Speed Reading for Kids 7–12

A program in development that aims to help children read faster without losing understanding. Join the waitlist to shape it.

Reading is part of almost every school subject, so slow, effortful reading affects much more than reading lessons: homework takes longer, and it is harder to keep track of what a text is about.

Speed reading and reading comprehension are where Shamil Ahmadullin started. He founded a network of speed reading and memory schools for children and wrote a series of speed reading workbooks for kids.

We are now developing an English online program based on these methods. It is not available yet. If you are interested, join the waitlist. The number of sign-ups helps us decide how soon to launch.

What we plan to cover

The program is still being designed, so this may change:

  • reading speed;
  • understanding what was read;
  • attention and memory;
  • short daily practice.

What we will not promise

You may see speed reading courses promising to double or triple reading speed in a few weeks. Results vary a lot from child to child, so we will not make such promises. Children’s reading speed also grows on its own over a school year, so a simple “before and after” number would flatter any program. Instead, we plan to compare your child’s results with grade-level norms at the start and at the end.

Who it is for

Children aged 7 to 12 who already read independently but read slowly, lose the thread of a text, or avoid reading.
